Yankees-Giants set for earliest US MLB opener in 2026 schedule
The New York Yankees will visit the San Francisco Giants next March in the earliest US opening day for Major League Baseball under a 2026 schedule unveiled on Tuesday.
The Yankees and Giants will meet at Oracle Park in San Francisco on March 25 with a 14-game slate set for the following day, marking the earliest US openers in MLB history, although some openers in other nations have been played earlier.
The 96th MLB All-Star Game will be played on July 14 at Philadelphia, which hosts the festivities for the first time since 1996.
Next year's regular season will also feature another "Rivalry Weekend" on May 15-17 with such matchups as the Yankees and New York Mets, Chicago Cubs at Chicago White Sox, Los Angeles Dodgers at Los Angeles Angels and Texas Rangers at Houston Astros.
Inter-league games will include such notable rivals as the Dodgers at Yankees on July 17-19, the Yankees at Cubs on July 31-August 2, the Cubs at Boston on September 25-27 to conclude the MLB campaign and Boston at St. Louis on April 10-12.
The Yankees will play host to the Mets on September 11-13, marking the 25th anniversary of the September 11th, 2001, attacks in New York.
The Athletics will continue to play home games in Sacramento, California, next year but will host six games at a minor-league ballpark in Las Vegas while their new stadium in Nevada is under construction. The A's will face Milwaukee on June 8-10 and Colorado on June 12-14 in Las Vegas.
