Visores hechos en prisión permitirán observar el eclipse en México de forma segura
Los habitantes de Ciudad de México podrán ver de forma segura el eclipse total de sol el próximo lunes gracias a visores fabricados por presos de dos penales de la capital, una forma de preparar su regreso a la libertad.
Se trata de un proyecto auspiciado por las autoridades de Ciudad de México y una empresa de divulgación científica con motivo del mayor evento astronómico del año, que se podrá apreciar parcialmente en la metrópoli y a plenitud en ciudades como Mazatlán (Sinaloa, noroeste).
Largas filas de compradores se registraron este jueves en torno a un museo de la policía donde se comercializan las gafas a cinco dólares la unidad. El lote puesto en venta para la jornada se agotó.
Capacitados por el profesor Zeus Valtierra, de la facultad de ciencias de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, medio centenar de internos de una cárcel del distrito de Iztapalapa manufacturaron los visores con láminas de polímero negro.
Según la Secretaría de Seguridad Ciudadana, ese material permite observar el fenómeno sin lesionar los ojos.
El diseño estuvo a cargo de mujeres presas en otro reclusorio, en tanto la fabricación se llevó a cabo en un taller donde los internos ya producen empaques publicitarios para su sustento y el de sus familias.
Estos emprendimientos buscan además "aumentar las posibilidades de conseguir un empleo cuando obtengan su libertad", según la Secretaría de Seguridad.
Diversas actividades han sido programadas en Ciudad de México y otras ciudades del país donde se podrá contemplar el momento en que la luna cubrirá el sol.
