Apple verzichtet beim iPhone 14 auf Preissteigerung
Der US-Konzern Apple hat die nächste Generation seines iPhones vorgestellt - und verzichtet dabei trotz galoppierender Inflation und Problemen in der Produktionskette auf Preiserhöhungen im Vergleich zum Vorgänger. Die neue Serie enthält vier Smartphone-Modelle, die in den USA zu Mindestpreisen zwischen 800 und 1100 Dollar auf den Markt kommen, wie der Konzern am Mittwoch publik machte.
Das iPhone 14 bewarb das Unternehmen beim Vorstellungsevent am Firmensitz im kalifornischen Cupertino als "schneller als die gesamte Konkurrenz". "Apple hat seine Top-Modelle aufgewertet", erklärte dazu der Telekommunikationsexperte von Verivox, Jens-Uwe Theumer. Allerdings rücke Apple damit lediglich näher an den Technik-Standard der Android-Flaggschiffe heran.
Apples Produkte gelten als sehr zuverlässig und einfach zu bedienen. Hinzu kommen andere Geräte wie Smartwatches, weiteres Zubehör oder Dienstleistungen wie etwa der Bezahldienst ApplePay. All diese Apple-Produkte funktionieren sehr gut miteinander, was für Markentreue der Verbraucher sorgt, wie die Branchenexpertin Carolina Milanesi von Creative Strategies analysiert. "Der starke Dollar macht es ihnen ein wenig leichter, ihre Preise nicht zu erhöhen", fügte sie hinzu.
Apple hatte sich zuletzt in einem von Materialmangel geprägten Umfeld behaupten können. Von Januar bis Juni 2022 verkaufte der Konzern laut den Technologieexperten von Canalys 106 Millionen Smartphones. Sein Anteil am Weltmarkt stieg damit auf 18 Prozent. Im Hochpreissegment von mehr als 600 Dollar dominiert Apple mit 66 Prozent den Markt.
"Apple ist im ersten Halbjahr 2022 dank der soliden Nachfrage nach dem iPhone 13 - das in diesem Zeitraum das weltweit meistverkaufte Smartphone war - und dem neuen iPhone SE weiter stark gewachsen", erklärte Le Xuan Chiew von Catalys. Zu diesem Erfolg habe auch die Preispolitik beigetragen. Außerdem habe der Konzern erfolgreich seine Produktion in Indien ausgeweitet, während in China zahlreiche Werke wegen Corona-Lockdowns ihre Produktion drosselten.
