Die US-Bundesanwaltschaft hat eine weitreichende Anklage gegen den Technologiekonzern Apple wegen mutmaßlicher illegaler Monopolbildung beim iPhone erhoben. Justizminister Merrick Garland, der zugleich oberster Ankläger des Landes ist, reichte die Klage bei einem Bundesgericht im Bundesstaat New Jersey ein, wie sein Ministerium am Donnerstag mitteilte.
Darin wird Apple vorgeworfen, den Wettbewerb zu unterdrücken und den Verbrauchern exzessive Preise abzuverlangen. Wenn nicht gegen das Unternehmen vorgegangen werde, "wird Apple sein Smartphone-Monopol nur weiter ausbauen", erklärte Garland.
