Kanye West Does Not Address Milo Yiannopoulos Detention During New Orleans Concert

Kanye West performed for about two and a half hours at the Superdome in New Orleans without publicly discussing the ICE detention and pending removal of his executive Milo Yiannopoulos, who was apprehended in Louisiana a day earlier.

NEW ORLEANS — Kanye West proceeded with a scheduled performance at the Superdome on Friday night without addressing the detention of his executive Milo Yiannopoulos by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

West, also known as Ye, performed for roughly two and a half hours before a large crowd, taking the stage after Yiannopoulos had been apprehended by immigration agents at a Louisiana airport on Thursday.

During the concert, West appeared on a large globe-shaped stage wearing red clothing and a mask. His set included well-known songs from his catalog, including 'Through the Wire,' 'Jesus Walks' and 'Good Life.'

An eyewitness cited by TMZ said West kept his attention on the performance and did not make a public statement about Yiannopoulos at any point during the show.

Ty Dolla $ign also joined West during the concert. The two performed a mashup drawing on music by the Backstreet Boys and 'Return of the Mack.' Ty Dolla $ign likewise did not discuss Yiannopoulos's detention from the stage.

Yiannopoulos entered the United States legally in 2019 but remained beyond the period he was authorized to stay, according to information reported about his immigration case.

An immigration judge issued a final removal order on July 22, 2026. ICE agents subsequently detained him in Louisiana, and he remained in custody while facing removal from the United States.

The Department of Homeland Security released a booking photograph after his detention. Yiannopoulos had not publicly commented from custody at the time of the concert report.

His detention created an immediate political and media backdrop to West's New Orleans appearance because of Yiannopoulos's role as an executive associated with the rapper's business activities.

West's decision not to mention the matter meant the concert remained focused on music and staging rather than the immigration case. Any response from West or Yiannopoulos after the performance would represent a separate development.
