Heavy snow hits Beaver Creek World Cup ski race again

Heavy snowfall forced the cancellation of the Alpine skiing World Cup men's downhill at Beaver Creek on Saturday, just as it did to the previous race that was cancelled 24 hours earlier.

The postponement makes it the fifth event to be scrapped this season following races in Solden due to wind at the end of October, two downhills at Zermatt-Cervinia, also due to wind, in November and the two events scheduled for Colorado this weekend.

The high altitude Beaver Creek resort is scheduled to stage a Super-G on Sunday, weather permitting, with more snow forecast.
