Radsport: Van Aert bei Massensturz verletzt
Der belgische Radprofi Wout van Aert ist nach einem schweren Massensturz während des Eintagesrennens Quer durch Flandern in ein Krankenhaus gebracht worden. Der 29-Jährige verlor bei hoher Geschwindigkeit die Kontrolle über sein Rad, insgesamt kam etwa ein Dutzend Fahrer zu Fall. Van Aerts gelbes Visma-Trikot war fast vollständig zerrissen, auf seinem Rücken waren Schürfwunden zu senden.
Weitere verletzte Fahrer waren der Eritreer Biniam Girmay und der Belgier Jasper Stuyven von Lidl-Trek, auch dessen Teamkollege Mads Pedersen aus Dänemark stürzte.
Van Aert war einer der Favoriten für die Flandern-Rundfahrt am Sonntag, bei der bis zu 750.000 Fans zu Belgiens größtem Sportereignis kommen. Der Belgier schrie vor Schmerzen, als er auf eine Trage gelegt und in einen Krankenwagen gebracht wurde.
