Experten: E-Lkw überholen ab 2035 bei Neuzulassungen konventionelle Fahrzeuge
Im Jahr 2035 werden mehr als die Hälfte der neuzugelassenen Lkw in Europa, den USA und China nach Einschätzung der Beratungsfirma McKinsey elektrisch betrieben sein. "Die Nutzfahrzeugindustrie steht in den Startlöchern, was die Dekarbonisierung ihrer Fahrzeuge angeht", erklärte der Ko-Autor der am Montag vorgestellten Studie, Bernd Heid. Bereits ab 2030 werden demnach CO2-arme Nutzfahrzeuge kostengünstiger sein als solche mit Verbrennermotor.
Die Untersuchung geht davon aus, dass bis 2040 der Anteil der E-Nutzfahrzeuge auf über 85 Prozent der Neuzulassungen steigt. Die Umstellung der gesamten Lkw-Flotte auf Batterie- oder Brennstoffzellenbetrieb werde aber deutlich langsamer verlaufen, erklärte Ko-Autor Heid: Es sei davon auszugehen, dass 2030 auf der Straße immer noch neun von zehn Lkws konventionell angetrieben würden, 2040 immer noch sechs von zehn.
"Die Gesamtbetriebskosten sind aus Nutzersicht der wichtigste Parameter bei der Auswahl eines Nutzfahrzeugs", erklärten die Experten. Und ab 2030 würden "batterieelektrische und brennstoffzellenbetriebene Lkw in fast allen Segmenten" kostengünstiger sein als dieselbetriebene Trucks. Bio- oder synthetische Kraftstoffe werden demnach wegen der höheren Kosten eventuell in bestimmten Nischen Anwendung finden.
Die McKinsey-Experten unterstreichen, dass auf Käuferseite großes Interesse an der geplanten Umstellung bestehe. So hätten einer weltweiten Umfrage unter mehr als 400 Flottenbetreibern im Frühjahr 2022 zufolge rund 60 Prozent konkrete Dekarbonisierungsziele festgelegt. Dafür bestehe allerdings weiterhin ein massiver Investitionsbedarf in Produktionskapazitäten und Infrastruktur. Alleine für den Aufbau von Ladestationen und Wasserstofftankstellen seien 450 Milliarden Dollar nötig.
Die Unternehmensberatung McKinsey stellte die Untersuchung zum Beginn der Nutzfahrzeugmesse IAA Transportation am Dienstag in Hannover vor.
